A FLABBY fido who was so obese she couldn’t walk or turn her head is now half the dog she used to be after shedding three stone.

Two years ago plump Pearl from Augusta in Georgia, USA, was incapable of moving after ballooning to six stone.

The Jack Russell was in such a pickle she even had to be wheeled everywhere in a cart.

Vets said they had never seen such a morbidly obese pet.

They  feared her heart could stop at any moment.

If the two-year-old pet could not shed weight she faced being put down.

But then Dog Networking Agents Inc stepped in.

Pet rescuer Hayley Zielinski, 48, originally from Merthyr Tydfil, Wales, said she when she received the dog was inflated like a beach ball.

In fact she had so many rolls of fat she couldn't walk or turn her neck.

Yet two years on, Pearl is now unrecognisable after losing 2st 8 (36lb) thanks to being placed on a specialist diet and exercising on an underwater treadmill.

Hayley said: "This dog was absolutely morbidly obese, she couldn’t walk at all or move her head because her neck was enormous, she even had to be wheeled into the vets.

"No one had seen such a morbidly obese dog that was still alive and vets told us that her heart could stop at any moment.

"At times, we didn’t think she was going to make it, we feared she was going to have a heart attack, but she didn’t and she fought on, I’m really proud of her."
